BROOKLYN PENTHOUSE
During her time with Morris Adjmi Architects, Gretchen and team worked on a Brooklyn pied-à-terre for a midwestern couple whose only design note was to create something “cool.” The team was also tasked with revamping the interior of the apartment building itself, a complex project that necessitated a savvy firm familiar with the ins and outs of the building structure.
Combining two penthouses into a single luxury penthouse with sweeping views of lower Manhattan, the client spared no expense, requesting custom millwork throughout and leaving no surface untreated or unfinished. Two skylights were also added for dramatic effect and to leverage the prime placement of the unit at the highest point of the building, ultimately resulting in a bright, sun-filled space that’s both unique and welcoming.
